• Full payment of the package on the day of the event is appreciated. Payment must be made within 3 days of being invoiced.  Late payments may incur additional fees or interest.  Unpaid invoices may lead to the use of debt collection services, in which case the customer will be liable for any recoverable costs incurred through debt collection.
  • Private party pricing is available for parties held by individuals in private venues only.  If other members of the public are able to attend the show (e.g. a birthday party held at a park), or the show is for a school, ECE center, club, organisation, business, or similar, then public show pricing will apply.
  • Private party base pricing is for one birthday child at a party with no more than 15 children total.  If you have a combined party or more than 15 children, additional charges may apply so please ask about this ahead of time to avoid any unexpected costs on your final invoice.
  • Please ensure you filled out the pricing form correctly so you’re invoiced for the same amount you were quoted. If the actual party details are different from those in the quote form, for example, more children attended, it did not meet the private party criteria, or the wrong travel location was selected, you will be invoiced for the actual party requirements rather than those quoted.
  • Additional wait charges may apply in the event that the magician arrives and is ready to start the show at the booked time, but is required to wait for more than 20 minutes to start the show.
  • Final numbers for balloon packages are to be given at least 3 days before the party date. This is the number of balloons that you will receive.  In the event that more guests are present and more balloons made, these will be invoiced for in addition to your base package price at $2 per balloon for classic and $5 per balloon for deluxe.
  • Events that involve more than 20km travel one way will incur travel costs, dependent on the distance.  This will be quoted for in your package pricing when the venue has been confirmed.
  • By booking MagicWorks you’re giving permission for any photos, videos, or other media that include attendees at the party to be taken and used for promotional purposes. If you want to opt out of this please send an email to info@magicworks.co.nz requesting that before the party date.
  • Magic shows work better indoors so an indoor location should be used in most cases.  Outdoor shows will be dependent on the weather, as they are unable to be done in the rain, high wind, or other extreme weather.  In cases where weather preempts outdoor performances, or there is inadequate shelter available upon arrival, MagicWorks reserves the right to cancel a performance and invoice in full.  We recommend having a backup indoor venue.
  • MagicWorks reserves the right to stop a show at any point where it becomes too difficult to perform due to inadequate venue, interruptions from noise/audience/adjacent groups or events, inaccessible venues (due to the amount of equipment) or other interference. In these instances the show may still be invoiced in full.
  • If asked to proceed with a show in questionable weather, the customer who has made the booking will be held liable for the replacement cost of any damaged equipment. This will be included in the invoice.
  • Please watch this video to ensure that your venue is suitable and that you get the most out of your MagicWorks with Josh show: https://youtu.be/6joARPeLEvQ.
  • MagicWorks has full vaccination status and current public liability insurance.
  • A deposit of $50 may be required upon booking to hold your event date during busy periods.
  • Cancellations made a minimum of one week prior to the party/event date will be fully refunded.
  • Cancellations made within one week will forfeit their deposit or incur a $50 admin fee if no deposit was paid.
  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the event will be charged in full.
  • Cancellations due to emergency or extenuating circumstances may be able to be refunded/not charged and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  • If you need to reschedule, this is generally fine with no added cost if it’s at least a week before the event, and as long as the new date/time is available. Rescheduling within a week of the event may incur a $50 admin fee. This may apply each time if rescheduled more than once.
